Cultural
Heritage Development Fund (CHDF) supports
the interpretive work of museums and historical societies
throughout the state by providing funding for technical assistance,
exhibition planning, professional development, exhibition
implementation, web-based history resources and heritage destination
initiatives.
Humanities
in the Schools (HITS) is a granting program
that funds professional development programs for public school
teachers and administrators that strengthen the teaching of
the humanities in Connecticut schools.
Historic
Preservation Technical Assistance Grants (HPTAG)
supports efforts to plan for the preservation, restoration
and rehabilitation of historic buildings throughout the state
to ensure that they remain resources for the state's heritage
tourism initiatives. The grantline is a collaboration between
the Connecticut Humanities Council and the Connecticut Trust
for Historic Preservation.
Heritage Advancement
Program (HAP) helps heritage institutions
that have gone through a formal strategic planning process
add critical new staff positions so that they may better serve
the public. The program operates statewide under funding
from the Connecticut Humanities Council. Grants to organizations
in the Greater Hartford region are awarded in collaboration
with the Greater Hartford Arts Council, with major funding
from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
Connecticut
Community Foundation Collaborations provide
support for heritage projects at a local level with funding
from the Connecticut Humanities Council.
